Note Highlights:

  • Notes are thoughtfully packaged in protective plastic currency sleeves!
  • 3rd issue of Goldback Gold Notes!
  • Notes come with various years of issue!
  • Contains 1/20 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold.
  • The obverse showcases the image of Libertas holding a flag from the American Revolution.
  • The reverse features a mirrored reflection of the obverse design.
  • Please bear in mind Goldbacks are NOT US legal tender.

The New Hampshire Goldback Gold Notes are not considered US legal tender currency, as the use of gold as a means of payment for commercial transactions ceased in 1933. However, in 2011, Utah passed a legal tender act, paving the way for gold to regain its status as a voluntary local currency. The Goldback Gold Notes serve as a form of voluntary currency that vendors can choose to accept, but only within the state where they are issued. In the case of these notes, they can be used in New Hampshire with participating vendors.

Rest assured that each of the 50 New Hampshire Goldback Gold Notes comes carefully protected in a plastic currency sleeve. While the thin layers of gold bullion between polyester sheets offer some level of safeguarding, the addition of the plastic sleeve provides extra protection during shipping and display, ensuring the preservation of each note’s integrity.

The obverse of these gold notes features a captivating image of Libertas, depicted as a young woman. Holding arrows in her right hand, symbolizing preparedness, she proudly raises a significant flag overhead. This flag bears the image of a lone pine tree at its center, along with the phrase “An Appeal to God.”

During the American Revolution, this flag played a significant role, being used by militias and the Continental Army. Designed by Colonel Joseph Reed in October 1775, it also flew on cruisers of the Continental Navy under the command of George Washington, the esteemed Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army.

On the reverse side of the New Hampshire Goldback Gold Notes, you’ll find a mirrored reflection of the obverse design. This side lacks additional colorization or graphic elements, allowing the mirrored image to shine through without distractions.
