The Proof American Gold Eagle Set consists of four coins from the 1988 Proof Gold series – 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz! The 1 oz coin bears the W mint mark from the West Point, while the remaining three come from the Philadelphia Mint.

Delivered in an attractive display box with a Certificate of Authenticity confirming the year of issue, all coins boast an impressive composition of 91.67% actual gold content, 5.33% copper, and 3% silver.

On the obverse of the 1988 4-Coin Proof American Gold Eagle Set, each coin features the image of Lady Liberty, a design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Commissioned by President Roosevelt to create a new design for American gold coinage, Saint-Gaudens depicted Liberty confidently striding forward with a torch and an olive branch. The torch symbolizes hope and guidance, while the olive branch represents America’s commitment to peace and friendship.

The reverse of the 1988 4-Coin Proof American Gold Eagle Set showcases the family of American bald eagles, portrayed in their nest.
