In 1886, Morgan Silver Dollars were produced by three mints. The Philadelphia Mint led the way with an impressive total mintage of 19.963 million coins. The New Orleans Mint contributed with 10.710 million coins, while the San Francisco Mint struck a modest 750,000 coins. Interestingly, 1886 marked the first time the Carson City Mint did not participate in the series.

These 1886 Morgan Silver Dollars are all available in certified condition. Mint State 65 coins boast exceptional luster with only a few small, scattered contact marks or possibly two larger marks. A few small patches of hairlines may also be present.

On the obverse of 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar, George T. Morgan’s design presents Lady Liberty’s left-profile bust, adorned with a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and coronet crown.

The reverse of the 1886 Morgan Dollars features Morgan’s depiction of the heraldic eagle, a frontal view with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace clutched in its talons.
