Each 2024 1 oz Australian Rectangular Silver Dragon Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are available individually in plastic flips, in plastic tubes of 20 coins, or in Monster Boxes of 200 coins. Each Monster Box holds 10 tubes in total.
The Azure Dragon, known as Qinglong, is one of the Four Symbols or Four Guardians of the Chinese constellations. It represents the East and Spring, and is associated with the element of wood. The constellation includes parts of Virgo, Libra, and other surrounding stars. This celestial dragon was believed to bring the spring rains necessary for agriculture.
The obverse of the 2024 Australian Rectangular Silver Dragon Coins features His Majesty King Charles III. This design by Dan Thorne is the first effigy of His Majesty for Australian coins, debuting in this series in 2024. The king is shown in left-profile relief without a crown on his head.
The reverse side of the 2024 1 oz Rectangular Silver Dragon Coin showcases a Chinese dragon. This year’s design depicts the dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, with a background of stylized water and clouds. This side also includes the P125 mint mark, celebrating the 125th anniversary of Perth Mint’s founding.
