Introduced in 1986, the American Gold Eagle Series is the official gold bullion coin of the United States. While it is not the purest gold coin produced by the US Mint, it holds significant symbolism with its depictions of Lady Liberty and the American bald eagle. Coin Highlights:
The United States Mint produces two primary gold bullion coins each year. The Gold Eagle, introduced first, features 22-karat gold, whereas the newer Gold Buffalo coin is made of 24-karat gold. Gold Eagles are composed of 91.67% gold, 5.33% copper, and 3% silver.
The 2025 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins available here are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. They come individually in plastic flips, with larger quantities available in protective tubes of 20, and Monster Boxes of 500 coins for larger purchases.
On the obverse of the 2025 American Gold Eagle, you will find the iconic image of Lady Liberty, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907. This design depicts Liberty standing tall with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, surrounded by stars, sunrays, and the U.S. Capitol in the background.
The reverse of the 2025 1 oz Gold Eagle Coin features a new design introduced in July 2021 by Jennie Norris. This design presents the bald eagle’s head in left-profile relief, showcasing detailed features of its gaze and plumage.
