The obverse of the 2025 1/4 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin features a portrait of King Charles III. This left-profile image, crafted by Steven Rosati, marks the first time His Majesty has appeared in this series, following his debut in 2024.
On the reverse of 2025 Canadian Gold Maple Leafs, the sugar maple leaf is proudly displayed. Designed in 1979, this emblematic Canadian symbol has appeared on all six weights of the Gold Maple Leaf Series, as well as on coins in the Silver Maple, Platinum Maple, and Palladium Maple collections.
The sugar maple leaf also plays a significant role in Canadian cuisine, particularly as the source of maple syrup. Maple-based treats, such as syrup, sugar, and candies, are beloved by Canadians and visitors alike. The maple leaf often adorns the packaging of these products, reinforcing its connection to Canada’s cultural heritage.
