The Canadian Maple Leaf Series took a big step forward in 1988 when the Royal Canadian Mint introduced the Platinum Maple Leaf alongside the Silver Maple Leaf. Initially offered in various fractional-ounce sizes, the Platinum Maple has been available solely as a 1 oz coin since 2009.
All 2025 1 oz Canadian Platinum Maple Leaf Coins offered here come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. You can purchase these coins individually, housed in plastic flips, or in multiples of 10, which arrive in protective tubes. After a brief pause from 2002 to 2009, the Platinum Maple Leaf has been a regular issue once again.
The obverse of the 2025 Canadian Platinum Maple Leaf features the new effigy of King Charles III. This left-profile portrait, designed by Steve Rosati, shows the King without a crown. It was first introduced on the Maple Leaf coins in 2024.
On the reverse of 2025 1 oz Platinum Maple Leaf Coins, you’ll find the classic sugar maple leaf design. This iconic Canadian symbol was created by Walter Ott for the original Gold Maple Leaf in 1979 and has since been used across the Maple Leaf series in various metals.
