The Liberty Gold Eagles were minted in four different branches of the US Mint in 1893, including Philadelphia, San Francisco, New Orleans, and Carson City. The Philadelphia Mint produced the largest quantity, with 1,840,840 coins. San Francisco struck just over 141,000 coins, New Orleans minted 17,000 coins, and Carson City produced 14,000 coins.

The obverse of the 1893 Liberty Gold Eagle features Lady Liberty in left-profile relief, wearing a coronet crown. This design, created by Gobrecht in 1838, is surrounded by 13 stars, with the coin’s date mark located at the bottom.

On the reverse, the 1893 $10 Liberty Eagle Coin displays the heraldic eagle of the United States. This image, also by Gobrecht, depicts a bald eagle holding the national shield, with arrows of war in one claw and an olive branch of peace in the other. Above the eagle is a banner with the national motto, distinguishing it as a Type II coin.
