On the obverse of the 1924 Peace Silver Dollar, you’ll find a portrait of Lady Liberty. This design was created by Anthony de Francisci and shows Liberty wearing a radiant crown. Around her, you’ll see inscriptions for the date and the national motto, “In God We Trust.”

The reverse of the 1924 Peace Dollar Coin, also by de Francisci, features a peaceful American bald eagle. The eagle is resting on an olive branch, symbolizing peace. Rays of sunlight spread across the background as the eagle looks toward the horizon.

The 1924 Peace Dollar was one of the final high-mintage releases in this historic series. That year, the Philadelphia Mint struck more than 11.8 million coins, while smaller quantities were minted in San Francisco. The Peace Dollar series was in production from 1921 to 1928 and briefly again in 1934 and 1935.
