The Royal Canadian Mint is well known for its Canadian Maple Leaf Series, one of the most popular bullion coin collections around the world. The series began with gold coins in 1979 and expanded to silver in 1988, featuring the famous sugar maple leaf design. Over the years, the collection has also included unique privy marks, like the Polar Bear privy seen on this coin. Right now, 2025 1 oz Canadian Silver Treasured Maple Leaf Polar Bear Privy Coins are available from BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2025 1 oz Canadian Silver Treasured Maple Leaf Polar Bear Privy Coin comes in a protective capsule and is sealed within an assay card. The Royal Canadian Mint provides this official assay card to certify the coin’s authenticity. The reverse of the coin includes a small privy mark honoring the polar bear, one of Canada’s iconic Arctic animals.
Polar bears are specially adapted to live in the harsh Arctic environment. Their thick, water-resistant fur appears white due to the way light reflects off the transparent, hollow hairs, but underneath, their skin is black to better absorb heat from the sun. This helps them survive in some of the coldest conditions on the planet.
The obverse of the 2025 Canadian Silver Treasured Maple Leaf Coin showcases His Majesty King Charles III. This is the first time King Charles III appears on Canadian coinage, with the portrait crafted by Canadian artist Steven Rosati in 2024. The left-facing profile shows the King without a crown, continuing the tradition of monarch depictions in Canadian coinage.
On the reverse, the 2025 1 oz Silver Treasured Maple Leaf Polar Bear Privy Coin displays the iconic sugar maple leaf, first designed by Walter Ott in 1979. The coin also features a Polar Bear privy mark, showing two polar bears touching noses, symbolizing the strength and beauty of the Arctic region.
