This design depicts the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, an important building in the Temple of Heaven Complex, which has been featured in every version of the Chinese Panda since 1982.

The reverse design for the 2025 Chinese Gold Panda Coins features new artwork for this year. It illustrates an adult panda sitting in the foreground, playing with bamboo. A playful cub interacts with the adult, while another cub can be seen climbing on rocks behind them.

While pandas are typically solitary animals, they display social behaviors during mating season. Male pandas will compete for female attention, using loud vocalizations, scent marking, and sometimes physical confrontations. Successful males may mate with multiple females during this short period. Female pandas will spend 1 to 2 years nurturing and protecting their cubs.
