The coin, along with the capsule, is elegantly presented in a beautiful presentation box from Perth Mint. Additionally, the coin and box are accompanied by a themed shipper featuring a stenciled depiction of the rabbit from the Great Race. A Certificate of Authenticity is also included with each coin, enhancing its collectible value.

The Lunar Series III program offers gold, silver, and platinum coins each year, with distinct designs for each metal. The gold and silver coins feature separate images of the animals, while the platinum coins share the same design as the gold coins each year.

The obverse of the 2023 Proof Australian Gold Lunar Rabbit Coins features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is depicted in right-profile relief, wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. This design, created by Jody Clark in 2015, portrays Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 89. It is one of the final coins to feature Her Majesty’s effigy following her recent passing, adding historical significance to the coin.

The reverse side of the coin showcases a playful running rabbit. In this design created by Ing Ing Jong, the rabbit exudes a sense of joy and freedom as it springs through the grass. Ing Ing Jong, a talented coin designer with Perth Mint since 2011, first introduced her Lunar Series design in 2013 during the Year of the Snake in the Lunar Series II program.
