On the obverse of Proof American Gold Eagle Coins, Lady Liberty, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907, symbolizes freedom and peace.
The reverse of 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle Coins features a family of American bald eagles, an exclusive design by Miley Busiek created in 1986. A male eagle flies over the nest as a female eagle guards the hatchlings within.
