The final design featured on the historic $10 Eagle gold coin from the United States Mint is known as the Indian Head Eagle. Introduced in 1907 and designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this design uniquely combines historic versions of Lady Liberty with American indigenous culture, highlighted by the inclusion of a feathered headdress. Today, 1932-Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins in certified condition are available at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
The 1932 Indian Eagle had the highest mintage in the history of the Indian Eagle Series. These coins were first struck in 1907 and issued annually through 1916, with only five issues following (1920, 1926, 1930, 1932, and 1933). During its production run, the Philadelphia Mint, Denver Mint, and San Francisco Mint contributed to coining efforts. The Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints struck the coins with the greatest regularity.
All 1932 Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins available here come in NGC plastic slabs with a grade of Mint State 65. Coins in this condition have high-quality luster for the date and a few small, scattered contact marks. One or two larger marks may be present, along with one or two small patches of hairlines. Overall, the coin’s eye appeal is very pleasing.
On the obverse of the 1932 $10 Indian Gold Eagles, you will find Saint-Gaudens’ left-profile bust of Liberty. This depiction shows Liberty’s head in left-profile relief with a feathered headdress atop her head. The band on the headdress includes the word Liberty, and there is an arch of 13 stars above her head.
The reverse of the 1932 Pre-33 $10 Indian Eagle Coins features a depiction of the American bald eagle. The eagle is shown perched on a sheaf of arrows wrapped in an olive branch. The field includes the national motto, denomination, and nation of issue.
