Product Details

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Series was introduced by the Royal Canadian Mint in 1979, offering an alternative to the South African Krugerrand at a time when global demand for gold bullion was growing. Right now, 1984 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins are available from BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships in a protective plastic flip!
  • 6th release in the popular Gold Maple Leaf Series!
  • Contains 1/4 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold.
  • Bears a face value of $10 (CAD), backed by the Canadian government.
  • Obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse showcases the iconic sugar maple leaf design.

Each 1984 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin is packaged in a plastic flip to keep it safe. The 1/4 oz Gold Maple Leaf, along with the 1/10 oz Gold Maple Leaf, was introduced in 1982, becoming the first fractional-ounce coins in the series after the release of the original 1 oz gold coin.

The Gold Maple Leaf Series has helped establish Canada as a leader in the global precious metals market. Over the years, the series has inspired other national mints to create their own bullion programs, while the Maple Leaf has remained one of the most widely recognized and trusted bullion coins in the world.

The obverse side of the 1984 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf features Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait, designed by Arnold Machin. This second-generation effigy shows the Queen in a right-profile relief at 39 years of age and was the last of her portraits in this series not created by a Canadian artist.

On the reverse of 1984 1/4 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coins, Walter Ott’s timeless sugar maple leaf design represents Canada’s national identity. First introduced in 1979, this design reflects Canada’s natural beauty and heritage, making the Gold Maple Leaf a symbol of pride for collectors and investors alike.
