Product Details

The Chinese Gold Panda series first appeared from the Chinese Mint in 1982. This collection stood out for its yearly design changes, making it one of the first major bullion coin programs to introduce new visuals each year. Since its debut, the Gold Panda has featured a different Giant Panda design every year except for 2002. Right now, BullionMax offers 2000 1 oz Chinese Gold Panda Coins featuring a frosted ring.

Coin Highlights:

  • Arrives in a sealed plastic pouch!
  • Unique frosted ring!
  • 19th release of Gold Panda coins!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure gold.
  • Bears a face value of 100 (Yuan) backed by the government of China.
  • The obverse features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests.
  • On the reverse is a depiction of a Giant Panda seated while eating bamboo.

Each 2000 1 oz Chinese Gold Panda Coin available here comes individually sealed in a plastic pouch. These coins are easy to spot with their special frosted ring circling the edge. The 2000 edition was produced at the Shenzhen Mint, one of the top facilities within the Chinese Mint network.

Looking at the reverse, you’ll see a detailed image of a Giant Panda. The panda’s fur pattern stands out with the famous black and white look, showing dark patches around the eyes, ears, and limbs set against a light-colored body. This unique color style, sometimes called “reverse countershading,” has been a topic of scientific interest for years.

On the obverse side, the 2000 Chinese Gold Panda displays the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This image shows the front steps and entrance to the historic building located inside the Temple of Heaven complex in Beijing.

The reverse of the 2000 1 oz Gold Panda Coin presents the Giant Panda relaxing as it holds a bamboo shoot. Surrounding the panda are bamboo leaves, adding to the natural beauty of the design.
