Product Details

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf series has been a popular choice for gold bullion collectors since its debut in 1979. The series started with a 1 oz gold coin featuring .999 pure gold, and in 1982, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced fractional-ounce coins along with an upgrade to .9999 pure gold. Now, 2010 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins are available online from BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Arrives inside protective plastic flips!
  • 32nd year for the Gold Maple Leaf Series!
  • Contains 1/10 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold.
  • Bears a face value of $5 (CAD) backed by the federal government of Canada.
  • Obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse features the iconic sugar maple leaf.

Each 2010 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin in this listing is packaged in a protective plastic flip. The 1/10 oz coin is one of the smaller options in the Gold Maple Leaf series, which also includes 1/20 oz and 1 Gram coins. Since November 1982, all Gold Maple Leaf Coins have been struck with .9999 pure gold, known as 24-karat gold.

When the Royal Canadian Mint introduced the Gold Maple Leaf in 1979, fractional sizes weren’t available until 1982. The first smaller denominations included the 1/10 oz and 1/4 oz coins. Over the years, the series grew to include 1/2 oz (1986), 1/20 oz (1993), and 1 Gram (2014) coins, offering more options for collectors.

The obverse of the 2010 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin features Queen Elizabeth II. Throughout her reign, three different portraits of the Queen have been used on the series, with the 2010 coin showcasing Susanna Blunt’s 2003 design, which depicts Her Majesty without a crown.

On the reverse side of the 2010 1/10 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin, you’ll find the sugar maple leaf. This iconic image, created by Walter Ott in 1979, has appeared on all versions of the Gold Maple Leaf coins, as well as the silver, platinum, and palladium editions.
