The obverse field of the 2021 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin features one of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ most popular artwork. This image has been featured on all of the American Eagle Gold coins since its introduction. It is no other than Lady Liberty who is depicted walking towards the viewer with a fiery torch and a symbolic olive branch in both hands. The inscriptions you will find on this side of the coin are Liberty and the year of the mintage.
The reverse field of the 2021 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin features the historic portrait of a bald Eagle family. This image was designed by the famed sculptor, Miley Busiek who depicts the male head soaring over his family with an olive branch. The hatchlings and the female head look up to him from their nest.
