Product Details

The first coin added to the Austrian Gold Philharmonic Series following its 1989 release was the 1/10 oz gold coin. A popular issue in any gold bullion collection, the 1/10 oz gold coin started out with one of the lowest mintages in the series and has grown to greater prominence in the 21st century. Now, 2023 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins are available to you for purchase online at BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins arrive in individual flips or protective tubes of 20 coins!
  • 35th issue of Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins!
  • Contains 1/10 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of 10 Euro by Austria.
  • Obverse features the pipe organ inside the Musikverein.
  • Reverse depicts musical instruments.

When the Austrian Gold Philharmonic debuted in 1989, the coins came in weights of 1 oz and 1/4 oz gold with face values assigned in Austrian Schillings. From 1989 to 2001, the coins continued with face values in the Austrian Schilling denomination. This was the fiat currency of the nation prior to the establishment of the Euro.

With the adoption of the Euro in 2002, the Austrian Gold Philharmonic became the first gold bullion coin with legal tender status in Euros. Though the Gold Philharmonics remain legal tender in Austria, the Euro denomination on the coins is not recognized as legal tender in other Eurozone nations.

Obverse design elements on 2023 1/10 oz Gold Philharmonics include the pipe organ from the Musikverein. The Golden Concert Hall, as the building is also known, was completed in the 1870s and the Great Pipe Organ is the third such pipe organ installed in the building since its completion.

Reverse visuals on these 2023 Austrian Gold Philharmonics include a variety of musical instruments. Anchored in the foreground by a large cello, the design includes four violins, a bassoon, a harp, and a horn.

These 2023 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins come in either individual flips or protective tubes of 20 coins each. The coins available in this listing come to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
