The obverse of the 2024 American Gold Eagle showcases the iconic image of Lady Liberty. When this full-length figure of Liberty, holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, debuted in 1907, it represented a significant shift in the depiction of Lady Liberty on American coins.
On the reverse of the 2024 1 oz Gold Eagle Coins, you’ll find a modern design of the American bald eagle. Created by Jennie Norris in 2020 and first used on the coins in mid-2021, this depiction shows the head of the bald eagle in left-profile relief, highlighting its intricate physical details.
