Product Details

The Perth Mint is well known for highlighting Australia’s unique wildlife in its bullion series. Popular programs like the Australian Kangaroo and Kookaburra have been around for decades, but newer collections, such as the Australian Emu, bring fresh designs to collectors and investors. Right now, 2024 1 oz Australian Gold Emu Coins are available at BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Arrives inside protective capsules, sealed rolls of 20 coins, or boxes of 100 coins!
  • 7th coin in the Australian Emu Series!
  • Limited mintage of only 5,000 coins!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of $100 (AUD) backed by the government of Australia.
  • His Majesty King Charles III is on the obverse.
  • An Emu is depicted in the reverse design.
  • Includes a P125 mint mark from Perth Mint.

Each 2024 1 oz Australian Gold Emu Coin arrives individually packaged in a protective capsule. If you order multiple coins, they will still be packaged in capsules, with rolls of 20 coins sealed together and boxes containing 100 coins. The coins in this release are all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

The emu is the second-largest bird in the world, just behind the ostrich. These flightless birds are native to Australia and have deep cultural ties with Indigenous Australians. Emus can grow up to 6.2 feet tall and can weigh between 66 and 99 pounds. Despite their size, they are fast runners and are well-suited to the Australian outback.

On the obverse side of the 2024 Gold Emu Coin is a portrait of King Charles III. This is the first time the King appears in this series, with his profile shown without a crown. The design was created by artist Dan Thorne and is exclusive to Australian coinage.

The reverse of the 2024 1 oz Australian Gold Emu Coin features the flightless bird in its natural environment. Emus are known for their long necks, soft feathers, and strong legs. Though they can’t fly, they are excellent runners, reaching speeds up to 31 mph and covering long distances as they search for food and water.
