The unlimited mintage means Perth Mint will produce these coins throughout 2024. This year’s release proudly features a special P125 mint mark to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Perth Mint’s establishment in 1899.
On the obverse, you’ll find a regal portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Lunar Series III program continues with Elizabeth II on the obverse, featuring the 2015 design by Jody Clark. This profile view captures the Queen at the age of 89, adorned with the George IV State Diadem.
The reverse side of the 2024 2 oz Gold Lunar Dragons presents a peaceful depiction of the Chinese dragon, symbolizing water, rain, and agriculture. Unlike its Western counterpart, this dragon is a benevolent and powerful creature, often portrayed as a long, serpentine being with antler-like horns and the ability to control the weather. The reverse also includes the commemorative anniversary mint mark and a micro-engraved security element.
