The Gold Eagle Coin Series has showcased the American bald eagle on its reverse since 1986. The bald eagle has deep cultural roots, symbolizing strength, courage, and freedom in North America. Its reputation as a national symbol connects to its soaring flight, often seen as a symbol of spiritual elevation and a connection to the divine.
Each 2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin offered here is in near-perfect Mint State 69 condition. Coins in this grade retain full, original mint luster and display no more than two slight imperfections, like tiny contact marks or hairlines that are located outside primary focal areas. Early Release coins are those submitted for grading within the first 30 days of their release.
On the obverse side of the 2025 American Gold Eagles, you’ll find Lady Liberty in an iconic image created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907 for the $20 Double Eagle. This design captures Lady Liberty standing confidently, with rays of sun behind her and the U.S. Capitol building in the background.
The reverse of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin depicts the American bald eagle. This image, redesigned by Jennie Norris in 2020, was introduced in 2021 and highlights the bald eagle’s head in left-profile relief, capturing its fierce and noble gaze.
