The Gold Eagle features Lady Liberty on the obverse and the American bald eagle on the reverse. It has become an iconic representation of the United States. The American bald eagle has been featured on the reverse of Gold Eagle Coins since the series began in 1986. This eagle, a powerful symbol of freedom, has deep roots in American history. It was respected by Native American cultures and later adopted as the national symbol of the United States. The eagle’s soaring flight is a representation of spiritual freedom and strength.
All 2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins available at BullionMax are graded Mint State 69. This means they are in excellent condition with full mint luster and only two minor imperfections, which may include light marks outside the main design area. These coins are also First Strike certified, meaning they were graded within 30 days of being released by the mint.
The obverse of the 2025 Gold Eagle features Lady Liberty, a design originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907 for the $20 Double Eagle coin. Lady Liberty stands strong and graceful, holding a torch and an olive branch, with the U.S. Capitol building in the background.
The reverse of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin displays the American bald eagle, redesigned in 2020 by Jennie Norris. The eagle is shown in left-profile relief, embodying the strength and unity of the United States.
