Product Details

First introduced in 1989, the Austrian Philharmonic bullion coins are produced by the Austrian Mint and are available in gold, silver, and platinum. The gold coins are particularly notable for their variety of sizes, making them popular among both collectors and investors. Over the years, the series has gained significant admiration across Europe. Currently, 2025 1/2 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins are available from BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins arrive in plastic flips or protective tubes of 10 coins!
  • 32nd coin in the 1/2 oz Gold Philharmonic Series!
  • Contains 1/2 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of €50 (Euros) by Austria.
  • Features the Great Pipe Organ in the Golden Concert Hall on the obverse.
  • Displays musical instruments on the reverse.
  • Art by Thomas Pesendorfer.

The obverse design of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Philharmonic Coin showcases the Great Pipe Organ. This magnificent instrument is located in the Golden Concert Hall, the main music venue of the Musikverein. The current organ, installed in 2011, is the third to be housed in the hall, having replaced an organ that was in use since 1907.

On the reverse, the 2025 Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin features a collection of musical instruments. A cello is prominently displayed at the center, accompanied by four violins in the foreground. In the background, you can find a French horn, bassoon, and harp, creating a harmonious design that reflects the beauty of music.

These coins pay tribute to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, a cherished national symbol of Austria. The orchestra has a rich history, evolving over time while balancing tradition with progress. Notably, it maintained a controversial policy of excluding women from permanent membership until it was changed in 1997.

These 2025 1/2 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins are available individually in plastic flips or in sets of 10 within acrylic tubes. Each coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. While the series began in 1989, the 1/2 oz gold coin was first issued in 1994.
