One of the most familiar coin designs in US history is the Washington Quarter. Introduced in 1932, this coin has been struck by the US Mint for decades and remains in use today. Quarters made between 1932 and 1964 were produced with 90% silver content, offering collectors and investors an easy way to add silver to their holdings. Today, you can order 90% Silver Washington Quarters in a $500 Face Value bag online at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
These 90% Silver Washington Quarters are composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. Each bag contains 2,000 quarters, giving you a total face value of $500 (USD). All coins included were issued from 1932 to 1964, before the US Mint moved away from silver in standard coinage. The dates and conditions will vary, but each coin fits within this historic range.
The Washington Quarter was created to honor the 200th birthday of George Washington. In 1930, the Standing Liberty design was retired, and a new portrait was introduced for the 25-cent piece. Congress approved the change to celebrate Washington’s legacy.
On the obverse of every 90% Silver Washington Quarter is a portrait of George Washington. This left-facing image was designed by John Flanagan and has appeared on the quarter since 1932. Around the portrait are inscriptions including “Liberty,” the national motto, and the coin’s date mark.
The reverse side features a classic image of the American bald eagle. This heraldic eagle design was also created by Flanagan. It shows the eagle with wings spread, facing left, holding a bundle of arrows in its talons, with an olive branch below. Depending on the coin, you may see mint marks from the Denver, San Francisco, or West Point Mints. Philadelphia Mint coins did not include a mark.
