Introduced in 2006, the Burnished American Gold Eagle adds a touch of collectibility to the Gold Eagle Series, standing as the third choice alongside the Proof and BU versions of the coin. It missed two date marks in 2009 and 2010, and generally boasts lower mintages. You can now grab your 1 oz Burnished American Gold Eagle Coins online from BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
Each 1 oz Burnished American Gold Eagle Coin in this listing at BullionMax comes in a presentation box with a Certificate of Authenticity from the United States Mint. These coins are available from random years, spanning from 2006 to 2008 and 2011 to the present. Keep in mind that we can’t guarantee a specific date or design in advance, so when you buy multiples, you might get coins with matching dates and reverse designs.
The highest mintages in the Burnished Gold Eagle Series came just before the temporary stoppage in production in 2009 and 2010. During those years of high demand for gold bullion, the US Mint prioritized the production of BU Gold Eagles.
The obverse design features Liberty’s front-facing portrait, created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907. Liberty holds a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in her left, with the U.S. Capitol Building, sun rays, and a ring of 50 stars in the background.
Reverse designs on 1 oz Burnished Gold Eagles include either Miley Busiek’s original family of bald eagles or the new portrait of an American bald eagle. Miley Busiek’s design is common as of mid-2021, with a new bust of the eagle by Jennie Norris on the reverse as of mid-2021.
