Product details

Swiss gold bullion is the world’s most respected. And of all Swiss gold refiners, none are more respected than Produits Artistiques Métaux Précieux (PAMP) Suisse. A combination of cutting-edge facilities, advanced anti-counterfeiting technologies and innovative designs has earned PAMP a well-deserved reputation for top-quality gold bullion.

PAMP’s flagship product is the 1 oz gold bullion bar, specifically the Lady Fortuna design. PAMP was the first refiner we know of to use a “minting” process to produce a beautiful, gleaming gold bar. Why did PAMP choose Lady Fortuna? Well, she’s the Roman goddess of good luck. She’s blindfolded because, just like Justice, she doesn’t need to see to know the truth. Since the wild success of their Lady Fortuna design, PAMP has branched out with a number of different designs. You'll receive a gold bar just like the one in the photos.

The obverse of this gold bar is marked with PAMP’s logo, the bar’s weight, purity and serial number. You’ll also note the Essayeur Fondeur stamp symbolizing PAMP’s guarantee of purity and weight. These bars meet all standards for the London Bullion Market Association’s Good Delivery list.

Each 1 oz gold bullion bar comes in its own tamper-resistant package with incorporated assay information.

About Veriscan anti-counterfeiting technology

Before PAMP brought minted gold bullion bars to the public, cast and stamped bars were vastly more common. The pouring and melting process used for cast bars often leads to some lumpy, strange shapes and uneven surfaces. Although unlovely by most standards, these irregularities did make cast bars unique and therefore easier to identify. Harder to counterfeit.

So PAMP’s minting of gold bullion bars, while an innovation, also created a concern: Lady Fortuna bars all look exactly the same (other than their serial number). Wouldn’t they be easier to counterfeit?

That’s one reason the Lady Fortuna design is so fine, so full of details. Little details drive counterfeiters to distraction and subsequently make creating a believable fake much more challenging.

But PAMP didn’t stop there! VERISCAN® is a unique technology they’ve developed, based on a very simple idea. Just like all cast bars are unique, if you look closely enough, all minted gold bullion bars are unique as well. Turns out, the microscopic topography on the surface of a gold bar is as distinct and unique as a fingerprint. (We really do mean “microscopic,” completely invisible to the naked eye. When the bars are struck at the refinery, those fingerprints are recorded and cataloged in PAMP’s database before the gold bullion leaves the facility.

On the other end, anyone with a $200 scanner and a smartphone app can authenticate a PAMP Suisse gold bar.

It’s an innovative and elegant solution!
