The $10 US Eagle is the oldest gold coin in American history, and the Liberty Eagle design is the longest-running visual to appear on these coins, featured from 1838 to 1907. The Liberty Gold Eagle remains a symbol of America’s economic strength and growth throughout decades of history. Right now, Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins in About Uncirculated condition are available at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
Each Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin offered here is in About Uncirculated 58 condition, meaning it has minimal wear and nearly full luster. These coins represent the highest quality of an AU coin, showing only slight signs of friction on the highest points. We do not guarantee a specific year of issue or design type in advance, as all coins are selected at random after your payment clears.
The Liberty Gold Eagle design was the second of three to appear on the $10 Gold Eagle. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the 3rd Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, it appeared on the coins from 1838 to 1907 with just one minor change. The original reverse design, known as Type I (1838-1866), did not include the national motto, while Type II (1866-1907) features a banner with the national motto.
Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse of the Pre-33 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin. This left-profile portrait shows Liberty wearing a coronet crown, surrounded by 13 stars representing the original colonies, with the coin’s date at the bottom.
The reverse of the $10 Liberty Gold Eagles features the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design shows an American bald eagle with the US national shield, holding arrows of war and an olive branch of peace. The Type II coins also include the national motto.
