Among its various designs, the Liberty Head Eagle is especially notable, having been the predominant design from 1838 to 1907. Right now, you can find Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins in Mint State condition at BullionMax.

The Liberty Gold Eagle represents the second design for the $10 US Gold Eagle Coin denomination. While the series ran from 1794 to 1933, the Liberty Gold Eagle was the most enduring design, minted for 70 years between 1838 and 1907. This famous design was crafted by Christian Gobrecht, the 3rd Chief Engraver of the United States Mint.

Each Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin from BullionMax is offered in Mint State 60 condition. This means the coins exhibit contact marks and hairlines, but they do not show signs of circulation wear.

On the obverse of the Liberty Gold Eagle, you’ll find a bust of Lady Liberty, designed by Gobrecht. This classic representation reflects the Greek and Roman artistic styles of the era, featuring Liberty in left-profile relief with a coronet crown and a ring of 13 stars.

The reverse side displays the heraldic eagle, also designed by Gobrecht. The eagle is shown in a front-facing stance with the US national shield. It holds arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing readiness for war and peace. The Liberty Eagle comes in Type I and Type II reverse variants; the former lacks the national motto, while the latter includes it, introduced in 1866.
