Valaurum, inventors of the Aurum® gold note and goldbacks, celebrates the the iconic Statue of Freedom located on the National Capitol Dome.

The Statue of Freedom is shown in three aspects: a full depiction, the statue in profile, and a close detail of the left hand holding the “wreath of victory.” The statue faces east to meet the rising sun. Radial linework symbolizes the rays of light as they radiate from the right side of the note. A ring of stars surrounds the wreath while acanthus leaves border the bill and incorporate printed security elements. The word “FREEDOM” is depicted boldly across the top of the note.

This Thomas Crawford-designed statue has crowned the dome of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. since 1863. Freedom has a sheathed sword propped on the ground, her right hand on its hilt, while her left hand holds both a laurel wreath and a shield. You can tell from the symbolism here that Freedom is both a warrior and a lover of peace, willing to fight necessary battles – and when the battles are won, to help the defeated back to their feat. It might not surprise you that the statue’s original name was Freedom Triumphant in War and Peace.

Back to the note’s design: “100 Milligrams” is printed in the top right corner and “24k Gold” at the bottom of the note. Each Freedom gold note includes a unique serial number in addition to an Aurum logo. “Made in the USA” is printed prominently on the left side.

Like the gold notes in the Goldback series, this Freedom Aurum gold note is a single sided printed piece with full color artwork on the obverse and the characteristic embossed effect on the reverse. The areas of the reverse corresponding to printed parts of the note have a matte appearance, while the rest of the reverse has a pure, mirror-like sheen like that of proof gold coins. It’s both subtle and quite lovely.

Aurum’s real gold notes are popular for stacking or collecting in bulk. Like all Valaurum gold notes, the Liberty note’s pure gold is visible throughout each note from edge-to-edge and is fully recoverable using standard fire assay techniques.

Maybe you thought you couldn’t afford to buy gold bullion? Thanks to Valaurum, you can start stacking gold for less than the price of lunch at a drive-through window. These gold notes sell out fast, so if you want one in your collection, buy it right now!

Highlights of the Freedom Aurum 1/10 gram gold note:
