The obverse of the 1 oz Palladium Eagle Coin features Winged Liberty, a design by Adolph A. Weinman first introduced in 1916. Liberty is shown in left-profile relief, wearing a Phrygian cap. This design was originally used on the US Dime, often called the Mercury Dime due to its resemblance to the Roman deity Mercury.

On the reverse of American Palladium Eagles, you’ll find the American bald eagle, also designed by Weinman. This design was first used in 1907 on the American Institute of Architects gold medal and portrays the eagle in left-profile relief with wings outstretched, clutching a laurel branch.
