The Texas Mint’s Revolution Series highlights key moments from the Texas Revolution of 1835-1836. The initial design, released in 2020, commemorated the Battle of Gonzales and the Texian defiance. The 2021 round captures a crucial moment from the Revolution, focusing on the Battle of the Alamo, a symbol of Texian resolve and bravery.

Despite the loss at the Alamo, the rallying cry “Remember the Alamo” became a powerful motivator, culminating in the Texian victory at the Battle of San Jacinto and securing Texas’ independence.

The obverse of the 2021 Texas Mint Silver Round features the outline of Texas with its prominent Lone Star in the center, reflecting the series’ enduring symbol.

The reverse showcases the intense hand-to-hand combat during the Battle of the Alamo, where approximately 200 Texian defenders withstood a much larger Mexican force for 13 days. Their courage and sacrifice became a rallying point for the Texian forces and played a key role in the eventual victory.
