The Buffalo Nickel holds a special place in American history as one of the most remarkable and sought-after coin designs. Its iconic image is still revered today, appearing on silver rounds and as the face of the American Gold Buffalo bullion coin from the United States Mint. Now, BullionMax presents the opportunity to own the impressive 10 oz SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Bars in brand-new condition.
Bar Highlights:
Each 10 oz SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Bar available for purchase here is meticulously sealed in protective plastic, ensuring its pristine condition and providing investors with the chance to acquire a significant amount of silver at a lower premium compared to other bullion products.
The Buffalo Silver Nickel, designed in 1913 by James Earle Fraser for the United States Mint, holds deep historical significance. Fraser’s childhood experiences in the Upper Midwest greatly influenced his design, as he frequently accompanied his father during his railroad work, traversing Minnesota and the Dakotas.
The reverse of the 10 oz SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Bar displays the image of Black Diamond, a real American bison that resided at the Central Park Zoo in early 20th century New York City. Fraser drew inspiration from Black Diamond when creating the reverse design of the Buffalo Nickel.
On the obverse, you’ll find the right-profile portrait of a Native American figure, skillfully crafted by Fraser. Rather than basing the design on a single individual, Fraser incorporated the facial features of several tribal leaders from that era, creating a representation of strength and dignity.
Engravings on the bar include the word “Liberty” within the round portion of the obverse design. This side also displays the bar’s purity, metal content, and weight. The reverse features the inscriptions “United States of America” and “E Pluribus Unum” within the round portion, with a cross-hatched design field behind it.
These exceptional silver bars are produced by SilverTowne, a renowned mint located in Winchester, Indiana. Starting as a humble family-run coin shop, SilverTowne has evolved into one of America’s leading private mints, known for its commitment to excellence.
