The obverse of the 1881-S Morgan Dollar Coin features a beautiful left-profile image of Lady Liberty. It is believed that Morgan drew inspiration from Anna Willes Williams for this design. Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, adorned with a laurel wreath and a coronet crown. Surrounding her image are 13 stars.

On the reverse, the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar showcases a heraldic eagle. Unlike more traditional representations, Morgan’s eagle does not include a national shield but is shown in a front-facing pose with its wings spread wide. The eagle’s talons grip both the olive branch of peace and the arrows of war.
