The 1881-S Morgan Dollar was struck at the San Francisco Mint, which produced 12,760,000 coins, the highest total of any branch mint that year. Production also took place at Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Carson City, adding millions of coins to the series.

The obverse of the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar features Lady Liberty, who is depicted in left-profile relief. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap and a coronet crown, with a laurel wreath resting on her head. Surrounding her are 13 stars, which represent the original American colonies.

On the reverse of 188-S Morgan Dollar Coins, you’ll find a striking design of the heraldic eagle. The eagle is shown facing forward, with its wings spread wide. It holds arrows and an olive branch in its talons, while a wreath of oak and laurel surrounds it.
