In 1888, Morgan Dollars were produced in large quantities by the Philadelphia Mint, which struck 19.183 million coins. Additional coins were also produced by the New Orleans Mint, with 12.15 million coins, and a smaller number from the San Francisco Mint, with 657,000 coins for this year.
