Product Details

The Morgan Silver Dollar, created by George T. Morgan, was first minted by the United States Mint in 1878 and continued annually until 1904. The final minting took place in 1921, making this dollar coin an important part of American currency during significant historical times, including the Reconstruction Era, the Gilded Age, and the Roaring 20s. Currently, 1900-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available for purchase online from BullionMax.

On the obverse side, the 1900-O Morgan Silver Dollar features Lady Liberty in a left-profile relief. It is believed that Morgan used Anna Willes Williams as the model for this design. Liberty is shown wearing a Phrygian cap along with a laurel wreath and a coronet crown, all surrounded by 13 stars.

The reverse side of the 1900-O Morgan Dollar Coin displays a heraldic eagle, which notably does not have a national shield in Morgan’s depiction. The eagle is illustrated in a front-facing position with its wings spread wide, clutching arrows of war in one talon and an olive branch representing peace in the other.

As the 20th century began, the Morgan Dollar was minted for the 23rd time in 1900. The coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the New Orleans Mint, and the San Francisco Mint. In total, nearly 28 million Morgan Dollars were produced that year, with New Orleans minting the highest amount at 12.59 million coins. Philadelphia closely followed with 8.83 million coins, while San Francisco issued 3.54 million coins.

These 1900-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coins come housed in individual protective plastic flips. If you order multiple coins, they can also be purchased in tubes of 20, if available. All coins in this listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Morgan Silver Dollar contains 90% silver and 10% copper.
