Your 1922 Peace Silver Dollar Coin will be securely delivered in an NGC protective plastic slab, graded as MS64 by the NGC. Expect an average luster with scattered contact marks and hairline scratches, some in prime focal areas.
The Silver Dollar’s design was determined through a contest following the Morgan Silver Dollar era. Anthony de Francisci, the youngest competitor, won with his design. His only previous experience at the US Mint was from his 1920 Maine commemorative half dollar. De Francisci won $1,500 for his winning design.
On the obverse side of the 1922 Silver Dollar Coin, Lady Liberty, modeled after de Francisci’s wife, is depicted in left-profile relief with a radiate crown.
Flip the 1922 Peace Dollar Coin, and you’ll find an American bald eagle perched on a rock with an olive branch in its talons on the reverse field.
