Product Details

The US Mint launched the Peace Silver Dollar in 1921, following the conclusion of the Morgan Dollar series. This new design became the last silver dollar issued by the Mint, with production running until 1935. These coins marked the end of an era in US silver dollar history. Right now, 1926 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available from BullionMax.

  • 6th year of issue for the Peace Dollar series!

During the years the Peace Dollar was minted, three mints contributed to production: Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver. In 1926, Philadelphia struck the fewest coins in the series, with a total of 1.939 million, while the San Francisco Mint produced the largest amount, striking 6.98 million coins that year.

Each 1926 Peace Silver Dollar Coin is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Peace Dollar series was minted from 1921 to 1928 and then resumed for two more years in 1934 and 1935. Coins arrive in protective plastic flips, and if available, multiples may come in tubes of 20.

The obverse of the 1926 Peace Dollar features Anthony de Francisci’s design of Lady Liberty. She faces left, wearing a radiant crown that symbolizes hope and enlightenment. The date and the national motto are also inscribed in the field.

On the reverse side of the 1926 Peace Silver Dollar is a depiction of an eagle resting on an olive branch, designed by de Francisci. The eagle represents peace, and rays of sunlight shine from the background, highlighting the nation’s desire for peace after World War I.
