In December 1921, the United States Mint introduced the Peace Silver Dollar, the last 90% silver dollar ever made for everyday use. This coin’s design celebrated the end of World War I and captured the hope many Americans had for a peaceful future. Today, you can find 1935 Peace Silver Dollar Coins in certified condition available at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
The obverse of the 1935 Peace Silver Dollar features a portrait of Lady Liberty. She is shown in left-profile relief wearing a radiant crown. This powerful image was created to reflect the spirit of peace that followed the end of World War I.
On the reverse side of the 1935 Peace Dollar, the design shows an American bald eagle resting peacefully. The eagle sits on a rock ledge, wings tucked at its sides, gazing toward the rising sun on the horizon, symbolizing hope and renewal.
Anthony de Francisci created a fresh look for the Peace Silver Dollar when it debuted in December 1921. His Liberty design broke from past styles by showing a youthful and glowing Liberty, complete with flowing hair and a crown of rays inspired by the Statue of Liberty.
These 1935 Peace Silver Dollars are graded Mint State 63. This means the coins have a slightly dulled mint luster, several small contact marks, some heavier marks, and minor hairlines that you might see without magnification.
