Each 1987-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle from BullionMax is in impeccable condition. PR70 coins showcase full, original mint luster with no detracting elements on the design or fields. The deep-cameo proof (DCAM) visuals indicate strong, frosted designs with deeply-mirrored, clear fields.

Originally, the San Francisco Mint was responsible for producing American Silver Eagles, both BU and Proof coins. While it struck Proof Silver Eagles from 1986 to 1992, it crafted BU Silver Eagles from 1986 to 1998.

The obverse of this coin boasts a timeless depiction of Walking Liberty, designed by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916. Liberty walks towards the sun on the horizon, holding oak and laurel branches in her hands.

On the reverse of the 1987-S 1 oz Proof Silver Eagles, you’ll find a modern rendition of the heraldic eagle. John Mercanti modified the design in 1986 for the series debut, featuring a bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield on its chest, clutching arrows of war and an olive branch of peace.
