The 2-oz Silver Canadian Twin Maples is an exquisite commemorative silver fixed mintage coin dedicated to celebrating Canada. It was released by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2017 as the successor to the immensely successful 1-oz Silver Maple Leaf coin.
A beautiful right-profile display of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt is featured on the obverse of the coin. Her Majesty has been the Queen of Canada since February 6th, 1952. The image of the Queen also pays respect to the Crown’s role in safeguarding the freedoms and rights of Canadians. Along with Her Majesty’s image, you can find the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II," “D.G. REGINA," and the denomination “10 Dollars." The coin also finally engraved radial lines which are a high-security and design feature of the RCM.
The reverse features a twin maple leaf, a beautifully designed tribute to the most recognizable symbol of Canada, which represents its people and its land. It was designed by Celia Goldkin, and the particular species in question is the sugar maple (Acer saccharum).
This coin weighs in at 2 oz of 0.9999 pure silver. It contains a smooth reverse proof finish. Although the coin bears a face value of $10 CAD, it’s regarded as a priceless addition to any portfolio or coin collection. The silver coin was approved into a select few IRA-accepted silver coins.
