Product Details

In 1988, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf, a silver bullion coin with .9999 purity. This coin followed the earlier release of the Gold Maple Leaf and shares the same overall design style, including a portrait of the British monarch on one side and Canada’s well-known sugar maple leaf on the other. Today, you can purchase 2011 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Monster Boxes online from BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Arrives in a Monster Box of 500 silver coins!
  • 25th release of 1 oz Silver Maple Leafs!
  • 500 individual coins included in the box!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver per coin in BU condition (500 Troy oz total).
  • Bears individual face values of $5 (CAD) backed by the federal government of Canada.
  • The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II.
  • On the reverse is the sugar maple leaf.

Each 2011 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Monster Box comes with 500 Brilliant Uncirculated coins. Inside the box, you’ll find 20 plastic tubes, each containing 25 coins. This original packaging from the Royal Canadian Mint keeps the coins secure and organized.

The sugar maple leaf became a national symbol of Canada in the 1800s. It was adopted by the St. Jean Baptiste Society in 1834 and later appeared on Canadian military insignia in the 1850s. Over time, it gained wider recognition as a symbol of Canadian identity, helping to set the country apart from its historical ties to the British Empire.

The obverse of the 2011 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf showcases Queen Elizabeth II in a design by Canadian artist Susanna Blunt. This 2003 design is a right-facing portrait of the Queen without a crown, and it marked the fourth effigy of Her Majesty to appear on Canadian coins.

The reverse features the classic sugar maple leaf, a design by Walter Ott introduced in 1979. The leaf’s connection to Canada deepened in 1867 with Confederation and the popularity of the patriotic song “The Maple Leaf Forever” by Alexander Muir, which helped to reinforce its place in Canadian culture.
