In July 2021, the United States Mint introduced the new Type 2 bald eagle design on its 2021 Silver Eagles. However, from late 2020 to July 2021, the original Type 1 design featuring the heraldic eagle was struck. The 2021-S Proof American Silver Eagles with the Type 2 design mark the first release with this captivating visual from the San Francisco Mint.

All coins in this collection come in their original US Mint packaging, including a protective capsule and a stylish black presentation box. The exterior lid of the box features an artistic depiction of the new bald eagle design. Each coin is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity directly from the mint.

While the San Francisco Mint did not set a specific mintage limit for the 2021-S Proof Silver Eagle, there is a product limit of just 200,000 coins for those packaged in US Mint boxes with a COA. In 2020, the San Francisco Mint issued a total of 191,336 Proof Silver Eagles.
