Unlike other versions of the 2021 Silver Eagle, the Burnished American Silver Eagle exclusively features the new reverse American bald eagle design by Emily Damstra. Notably, the US Mint will only release the Burnished Silver Eagle with the new Type 2 design; there will be no Type 1 release for the 2021 Burnished Silver Eagles.
The obverse field of the 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle coin showcases the timeless Walking Liberty design. Created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this design features Lady Liberty in left-profile relief, walking towards the sun on the horizon. The original 1916 “AW” signature mark by Weinman is also present on the obverse of all Type 2 coins.
Flipping to the reverse side, you’ll discover the captivating new bald eagle image. Crafted by Emily Damstra, a member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program, this design was selected from over 30 submissions to become the new reverse face of the coin series.
