While Silver Kangaroos were primarily available as proof specimens with changing designs in the 1990s and 2000s, Perth introduced the Silver Kangaroo BU Series in 2016. On the obverse side of 2023 1 oz Silver Kangaroo Coins, you will find the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, portrayed in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. This depiction, created by Jody Clark, serves as the final effigy of the Queen following her passing in September 2022.
The reverse side of the 2023 Australian Silver Kangaroo Coins showcases a historic image of a leaping kangaroo against a stylized backdrop of sun rays. This design draws inspiration from Stuart Devlin’s iconic Australian copper penny design featuring a leaping kangaroo.
