The United States Mint introduced Burnished American Silver Eagles in 2006, providing collectors with a distinct option alongside the traditional Proof Silver Eagle. These Burnished Eagles have been available intermittently, with offerings in 2006-2008 and annually since 2011.

The obverse of the 2023-W Burnished American Silver Eagle features the iconic Walking Liberty design. Liberty is portrayed in full-length profile, with her right arm extended and her left carrying oak and laurel branches as she strides toward the sun, draped in the American flag.

On the reverse side, you’ll find the soaring bald eagle design by Emily Damstra. Introduced in mid-2021, the eagle is depicted in left-profile relief, wings extended, and talons clutching a large oak branch. This side includes the W mint mark from the West Point Mint.
