By the mid-1700s, the Mosopelea tribe’s population had declined due to disease, conflict, and displacement. Many survivors joined other indigenous groups, particularly the Tunica and Biloxi tribes in Louisiana. Today, most descendants of the Mosopelea are part of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, who continue to maintain their cultural traditions.
