The Tuscarora are an indigenous tribe originally from what is now North Carolina, living along the Neuse and Tar Rivers. They became part of the Iroquois Confederacy, also known as the Haudenosaunee. The Native American Mint’s Native America the Beautiful Series honors the Tuscarora with its West Virginia release. Right now, 2024 1 oz Colorized Native America the Beautiful West Virginia Silver Coins are available from BullionMax.

In the early 1700s, the Tuscarora people had conflicts with European settlers, leading to the Tuscarora War from 1711 to 1715. After the war, they moved north and joined the Iroquois Confederacy as the Sixth Nation in 1722. Some Tuscarora members settled in the area around modern-day Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Each 2024 1 oz Colorized Native America the Beautiful West Virginia Silver Coin comes in a protective plastic capsule and arrives in a themed presentation box with a Certificate of Authenticity. The obverse design features selective colorization that adds a touch of vibrancy to the natural landscape.

The obverse of the 2024 Colorized West Virginia Silver Coin shows the meeting point of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. This view depicts the landscape in 1713, highlighting the beauty of the surrounding hills and forest, enhanced by fall foliage colors.

On the reverse, the 2024 1 oz Colorized West Virginia Silver Coin displays the series’ common design. This includes the head of an American bald eagle in left-profile relief, framed by an eight-pointed star with arrowheads between each point.
